Sorrels attended the University of Kentucky and earned his bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance there in 2004. He was then admitted to Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University and earned his juris doctor in 2007, and was admitted to the Kentucky bar that same year. Mr. Sorrels is licensed in federal and state courts in Kentucky, and is also licensed to practice in Indiana.
After passing the bar exam, Sorrels practiced defense litigation for insurance carriers and their policyholders for several years before opening his own practice in Louisville in 2012 focusing on helping injured people and real estate before joining Neal & Davis in 2016. While working on his own, Sorrels helped his injured clients recover more than $1 million in compensation.
At Neal & Davis, Taylor Sorrels has shifted his practice areas to focus more on helping small business owners get on their feet and plan for success. Sorrels also serves as counsel for title agents, construction companies and commercial leasing companies, while still working hard for his personal injury clients.

He is also a member and former board member of the Shelbyville Rotary Club, serves on the board of directors at the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce,
Taylor Sorrels is married to another attorney, Jessica Sorrels, and the two have three children and two dogs. In his spare time, he is a huge soccer fan, and also an avid golfer and runner.
