Biography

Matthew H. Chandler was admitted to practice in 2001. Before attending law school, Matt received his CPA license and worked for public accounting firms in Lexington and Louisville. As a CPA, Matt provided audit services to financial institutions, manufacturers, coal mining operations, restaurants, and retail businesses.

Matt earned his J.D., from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2001. He received his B.A., cum laude, from Transylvania University in 1993.

He has broad transactional experience representing business and individuals. Prior to returning home to Shelbyville to practice law, Matt worked for a law firm in Lousiville. He was involved in numerous mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate transactions, corporate reorganizations, and tax matters.

In addition to maintaining a private law practice, Matt was an assistant county attorney for ten years. In that role, he was responsible for prosecuting misdemeanors and other criminal violations. He also assisted the Shelby Couny Fiscal Court with legal matters and pursued the collection of delinquent real estate taxes for the county.

Matt focuses his practice in the areas of real estate, general corporate law, business, estate planning, probate, and elder law. Matt enjoys working with individuals and families to plan for the future and assisting them with probate and trust administration.
